Why Croatia?
Croatia is a country of stunning and diverse landscapes, warm and friendly locals and a rich, unique history and culture. Whether you want to spend your holiday island hopping around the Adriatic Sea, hiking through the mountains and lakes of some of the eight national parks or immersing yourself in some of its famous medieval walled cities, you’ll find plenty of things to do in Croatia.
Fortunately, as more and more people are choosing to head to Croatia on holiday, new hotels and apartments are springing up in every part of the country, ranging from budget hostels to luxury villa rentals. No matter which part of the country you decide to visit, you can rest assured that there’ll be plenty of accommodation options to suit your travel style.
Plitvice Lakes National Park
Plitvice Lakes is one of the most beautiful national parks in Europe so it’s definitely worth spending at least a day exploring the area. The park is spread out over almost 300 square kilometres and features a series of sixteen turquoise lakes and hundreds of waterfalls cascading between them. Divided into the Upper and Lower Lakes there are dozens of different hiking trails to choose from, taking you past caves, through forests and around waterfalls.
Dubrovnik
Located in the very south of the country and known as the Pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Croatia. The beautiful Old Town, surrounded by medieval walls, is full of history and architecture with many cathedrals and churches to explore. Be sure to make time to walk the city walls for some fantastic photo opportunities of the terracotta roofs from above. With a couple of rocky beaches outside the Old Town and lots of day trips to nearby islands available, there are several opportunities to explore outside the city too. Although slightly more expensive than other parts of Croatia, it is still possible to find budget accommodation within the Old Town.
Zagreb
While the beaches of Croatia are mostly packed full of sun-seeking tourists, the capital city Zagreb remains relatively undiscovered. The compact and walkable Old City gives off a small-town feel while still offering plenty of things to do. With its bustling café culture, Zagreb is the perfect place to spend a week getting lost wandering around cobbled alleyways lined with coffee shops and bars. While there are lots of cathedrals to explore and dozens of parks to relax in, Zagreb also has more museums per square foot than any other city in the world so there will always be something to keep you busy.
Zadar
When Alfred Hitchcock visited Zadar in 1964, he claimed that the sunsets were the most beautiful in the world. With most visitors to Zadar wanting to witness the famous sunset for themselves, the seafront can get extremely busy of an evening. Luckily, Zadar’s two most famous attractions are located nearby. The Sea Organ and Sun Salutation opened in 2005 and were designed to bring a bit of life to the otherwise dull seafront. The Sea Organ is a musical instrument that generates music via the movement of the ocean waves and the Sun Salutation uses solar power to generate a light show as soon as the sun sets.
Brac
Take a short twenty minute ferry ride from the coastal town of Split and you can find yourself on the beautiful island of Brac. Brac is one of the largest islands in Croatia but still manages to remain less crowded and much cheaper than nearby Hvar. Brac is the island of watersports, with windsurfing being the most popular activity. However, if you prefer to spend your holidays relaxing then Brac has some excellent beaches to explore, including the famous Zlatni Rat beach, which stretches half a kilometre out into the Adriatic Sea and is often featured on postcards of Croatia.

The National Parks Tour of Arizona and Utah
The breathtaking landscapes of Arizona and Utah, Wyoming and South Dakota present visions of the American West.
The National Parks Tour Itinerary
Day 1 London – Denver
Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service® collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to Denver. On arrival, we transfer to our hotel, the Crowne Plaza Denver or Holiday Inn Cherry Creek for the next two nights.
Day 2 Denver
Modern and vibrant, set against a stunning Rocky Mountain backdrop, Denver makes a fine introduction to the American West. A brief orientation tour includes a visit to the gold-domed State Capitol building, one of the steps of which is exactly a mile above sea level, earning Denver its ‘Mile High City’ moniker. The remainder of the day is at leisure for relaxation or independent exploration – perhaps to learn more about Denver’s gold rush heritage at Larimer Square and the Historic Lower Downtown District, or wander around the excellent shops of the 16th Street Mall.
Day 3 Rocky Mountain National Park – Cheyenne
North of Denver, the summer resort of Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, with its towering, snow-streaked peaks reflected in still blue alpine lakes. After some time to appreciate the magnificent scenery, we continue to Cheyenne, the capital of Wyoming, named for the Native American people who occupied this region in times past. Our hotel is the Little America.
Day 4 Fort Laramie – Rapid City
Today we visit the historical Fort Laramie, a site of exceptional historical significance, a 19th century fur-trading station which was acquired by the US Army in 1849 to protect and supply western emigrants. It took on an increasingly important role in settling violent disputes between whites (often gold prospectors) and Native Americans, giving its name to two treaties, in 1851 and 1868. Following a visit, we leave Wyoming for South Dakota and Rapid City, the historic freight centre of the gold rush attractively situated at the foot of the Black Hills. Our base for two nights in Rapid City is the Adoba Eco Hotel.
Day 5 Crazy Horse – Mount Rushmore
This morning we pay a visit to a work in progress since 1948, the Crazy Horse Memorial situated in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The monument is on a scale exceeding even that of the great pyramid, carved into a mountain and considered to be on sacred ground. This depiction of Sioux leader Crazy Horse, with arm outstretched illustrating the phrase ‘My lands are where my dead lie buried’, a tribute to the Native American. This evening we visit one of the world’s most impressive artistic achievements and an icon of the American West. Carved into the granite face of Mount Rushmore, the 18m-tall faces of former presidents Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln look serenely on. The monument itself is memorably featured in the climatic chase scene of Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest.
Day 6 Devils Tower – Sheridan
Our journey continues into Wyoming and Devils Tower, a bizarre igneous rock formation that protrudes dramatically out of the prairies that surround the Black Hills. It is perhaps just as famous as the site of the landing spaceship in Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Then, we travel to Sheridan, a pleasant town which owes its prominence to a history of trapping, ranching, mining and railroad building offering modern hospitality with old west charm. Our hotel is the Holiday Inn or Best Western, Sheridan.
Day 7 Cody – West Yellowstone
We continue westward to the town of Cody, named after William F Cody, better known as the pioneering ‘wild west’ showman Buffalo Bill. After lunch at leisure and time for independent exploration of the collection of museums depicting features of the American West, we journey to Yellowstone National Park and to our hotel for the next two nights, the Gray Wolf Inn, perfectly located for exploring this remarkable region.
Day 8 Yellowstone National Park
Enjoy a full day tour of the unforgettable Yellowstone National Park. This high plateau straddles the border of three states and is packed with natural wonders – half of the world’s geothermal features (including the iconic ‘Old Faithful’ geyser) may be found here, along with hundreds of documented species of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles. In the company of an expert local guide we can appreciate the enchanting mountains and waterfalls, marvel at the volcanic ‘sideshows’ and try to shoot the perfect picture of the park’s ‘megafauna’ – characterful wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves and herds of bison.
Day 9 Grand Teton National Park – Jackson Hole
Another memorable day of sightseeing awaits today, as we travel south through Grand Teton National Park, a 1,300km reserve renowned for the tranquil majesty of the snow-capped Teton Range, rising abruptly without foothills. The valley town of Jackson Hole offers a friendly welcome and a comfortable stay at the 49er Inn for the night.
Day 10 Salt Lake City
Today we travel south, crossing the state line between Wyoming and Utah as we journey to Salt Lake City, perhaps best known as the headquarters of the Mormon Church. Mormon pioneers, fleeing persecution in Illinois, settled here more than 150 years ago and helped build an attractive city with much to offer the modern-day traveller. On arrival, we take a short orientation tour before checking in at the Red Lion Salt Lake City.
Day 11 Arches National Park – Moab
Sit back and enjoy the scenery as we follow the mountains, passing beautiful canyons, on our way to Arches National Park. Aptly named and famed for its preservation of over 2,000 natural red sandstone arches spanning 73,000 acres of wilderness, including the beautiful Delicate Arch. We check in to the Aarchway Inn, Holiday Inn Express or Best Western Canyonlands, Moab, a short distance away for the night.
Day 12 Canyonlands National Park – Bryce Canyon National Park
Visits to two remarkable national parks comprise a long but rewarding day. As its name suggests, Canyonlands National Park presents a richly coloured landscape of canyons, mesas and buttes, carved by the Green and Colorado rivers and adorned with petroglyphs by the Ancestral Puebloan Indians. This afternoon we journey west, arriving at Bryce Canyon National Park, named for just one of many canyons which form a series of magnificent horseshoe-shaped natural amphitheatres on the edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Erosion has created thousands of subtly and beautifully coloured limestone spires, fins, arches and mazes. Our hotel is the Best Western Ruby’s Inn.
Day 13 Bryce Canyon National Park – Zion National Park – Lake Powell
Today we visit Zion National Park, another park renowned for its soaring monoliths and echoing canyons, its enchanting waterfalls and rock colours, and its prolific wildlife and Native American heritage. We spend some time in contemplation of its quiet grandeur and natural marvels including the ‘hanging gardens’ (rock walls bedecked in summer months with flowers) before driving on to the Lake Powell Resort, our hotel in Lake Powell for tonight.
Day 14 Grand Canyon
Crossing into Arizona, our destination this afternoon is an undoubted wonder of the natural world. The Grand Canyon, a colossal, steep-sided gorge carved by the Colorado River, now a tiny silver ribbon a mile below, truly inspires with panoramic views of outstanding beauty from the south rim. This afternoon those that have booked on an optional helicopter or fixed wing flight over the Grand Canyon will have the opportunity to view this extraordinary phenomenon from a different point of view. Overnight at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel in Williams.
Day 15 Grand Canyon – Sedona – Scottsdale
This morning we depart south through Navajo country to Sedona, with its breathtaking red rock vistas, and on to Scottsdale via the ancient five-storey Native American cliff dwelling known as Montezuma Castle. At the heart of the ‘Valley of the Sun’ and the Sonoran Desert, noted for its spectacular sunsets and indigo skies, towering cacti and dramatic rock formations, the city of Scottsdale could hardly be more memorably situated. There is time to discover its thriving artistic and cultural community, exploring the shops and galleries from our centrally-located hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn.
Day 16 Scottsdale – Phoenix – In flight
A truly wonderful journey concludes at Phoenix Airport, for a direct, scheduled overnight British Airways flight to London.
Day 17 London
On arrival at London Heathrow you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.

Just a few lines to say a great huge big THANK YOU for organising another wonderful holiday for us! The cruise was excellent. The whole experience was stress free which is a major factor for me! The taxis all turned up on time which was amazing. We also thought the hotel in Barcelona was excellent, so thank you again Tim. You really are a star.

I thought we'd just let you know what a wonderful time we all had aboard the Adventure of the Seas, and thank you for your part in the arrangements, we enjoyed every minute, no doubt probably our best cruise to date. Also I would say that disparaging remarks or criticism were totally unfounded, we gave all the staff, food, cabins, entertainment, weather and the ports of call, 10 out of 10, its a great ship, managed by a fine Master and very dedicated crew. We may have to give next year a miss to build up the bank balance, but we will come back to you for your expertise, as our Cruise Connoisseur.

My wife took four books on her kindle, but only read 16% of the first one because we met and talked to so many lovely people.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for organising our trip to Verona last weekend. This was a very emotive trip for my wife & I, as it was our first trip to Italy since my wife's cancer diagnosis 2 years ago. Italy is without a doubt our favourite place on the planet and we were not sure if she would see it again. Thanks to you, she has regained, what I call her Italian smile, it came across her face the minute we touched down. Money cannot pay for that smile! The hotel at Gatwick was literally a 2 minute bus ride from the airport, front row seats on the flight over and chauffeur driven limo to meet us at the airport was an amazing start to the weekend. When you said we were staying in a 3 star hotel, I was, if I'm honest, a little nervous, generally speaking, 3 star hotels in Italy means you are sleeping in a cow shed. Not at the Hotel Milano, what an amazing hotel, slap bang in the centre of Verona, with views of the arena, excellent breakfast, towels changed twice daily, good size bedrooms and very comfortable beds! The air con worked superbly, which was just as well with temperatures in the 30's every day. Thank you for making this trip memorable for both of us.

It really was fantastic and made a wonderful golden wedding present with all the immediate family with us - a rare occasion! A really big thank you for the wonderful bouquet of roses which arrived in our cabin. I was really touched by such a kind thought, they were beautiful and very much appreciated.

There aren't many people I can say this to, but you've totally impressed my mother-in-law. Seriously, thank you for all you hard work in arranging the cruise on board Serenade of the Seas for my in-laws and four other guests. Not only were your clients located in in three corners of the UK, but you had to deal with very late booking alterations, various medical requirements, special dietary requirements and not to mention 6 very experienced cruisers. All arrangements were completed by you with professional calm and flourish and, due to your personal intervention and attention to detail, everything was perfect from beginning to end. The whole party, who have much cruising experience between them, were totally impressed and will undoubtedly be booking with you again.

Just back from a fantastic holiday. Everything went really well with your arrangements. The Centurion Palace was great and I would strongly recommend it. It is a great location, very comfortable & very attentive staff. Venice was a trifle hot but lovely all the same and now competing for our favourite Italian city. All went well with the ship, again thank you for picking it for us; a perfect choice. Staff were great, cabin very comfortable and what was so nice is that there was no forced seating. We could eat in a choice of restaurants and there was always a table for two if we wanted it. The food choices were outstanding. The itinerary was very interesting particularly Kotor in Montenegro. We easily got a train into Florence and were bold over by Barcelona. A big thank you from us both for organising this trip, and believe it or not, we both came back a few pounds lighter!

I had never used a Travel Consultant before. Daniel was recommended to me at a number of networking events & when I was thinking of planning a holiday I contacted him. From here I noticed a different level of service than I had experienced with other travel sales channels.2 things stick out; 1. Daniel jumped on my request immediately. I was impressed by how he communicated at every step of the way & acted with pace. This created trust very quickly. 2. Daniel always left a next move. This is a very skilful approach to sales. I was never boxed in, always had an alternative & had options.I recommend Daniel & will be using him for all my future travel needs.

Great 4 days in Malta organised by Daniel! My passport had only a couple of months left on it and I was worried that I'd need to quickly get a new one but Daniel checked Malta's entry rules and was able to put my mind at ease ...saving me a wodge of cash.

Hello JillOnce again we would like to thank you very much for giving us such a terrific service. Our recent holiday to Spain with Great Rail Journeys was not quite as straight forward as we had hoped partly because there were days added and two couples - one British and the other Australian.Thank you Jill for filling in all the missing paperwork for taxis. You must have spent considerable time sorting out that problem. For the four of us, nothing could have been more simple. Lovely, executive cars arrived at each designated meeting place with superb drivers. It was pure pleasure to be picked up and delivered so efficiently. There were absolutely no hitches. Thanks must also go to GRJ for providing such excellent transportation. Mr and Mrs Atkinson have asked me to give you their sincere thanks to which we add our own.Thank you Jill Sincerely The Atkinsons and Boylands. June 2017

The place was stunning, and the people were so friendly, everyone from the cab driver from the airport to the hotel to the people checking us in on the way home, couldn’t have helped us any more even if they wanted to. I would 100% recommend Mauritius and Le Victoria to anyone asking about it. Thank you for all you done, to help get it booked.

HiJenny,Thank–you for organising our trip to Dominican Republic everything was brilliant and went really well,as expected when you are organising things, the resort was brilliant much better than we had imagined and we were upgraded to fantastic rooms 7303 and 7304 they were the most recently refurbished and also used for the preferred club.I know its early but sometimes its best to try and sort things early so for next August we are thinking of Dreams St Thomas ? but do not think we can fly there direct from UK so were thinking of 3 nights New York, 12-14 nights at Dreams and then fly back direct if available or via Miami with 2 nights there.Or another thought is Aruba I know the Dreams there does not open till 2018 but I think there are similar chain there. Please could you look at these for August 2016.Thanks again for yet another great holiday this year, how do you manage to ALWAYS get our holidays so spot on ?

Not long back from our 3rd holiday of the year all booked by Jackie, Jackie is excellent at finding great hotels at fantastic prices. firstly we booked a holiday in Mexico at the Occidental Grand Excaret on the Riviera Maya. For the May bank holiday weekend we asked Jackie if she could find us something in the UK with a hot tub for a relaxing break, Jackie quickly replied with a few options and we ended up booking Conifer Lodges at Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway. The price through Jackie was cheaper than what we could of booked it ourselves. Lastly we have not been long back from Kardemeana in Kos, this one proved a bit more difficult to find as we'd been spoilt in Mexico, Jackie spent a lot of time finding us exactly what we asked for and yet again managed to find us a fantastic hotel at a brilliant price. I look forward to booking next years holiday's with Jackie as I know she'll exceed our expectations for what we want.

I have just come back from a fantastic week in Kos which Jackie booked at very short notice for my daughter and myself. I was a little nervous about travelling alone with my 7 year old for the first time as my husband was working and, to compound matters, I had an injured shoulder. Jackie arranged everything to make the holiday as easy for me as possible. The hotel was lovely and just what we wanted - we had a great break. Before contacting Jackie I had already wasted almost a full day trawling the internet and tying myself up in knots. Jackie did all the research, gave me loads of suggestions and had the whole holiday booked and organised in just a few hours. All I had to do was pack and turn up for the flight. Next time I'm not going to even think about searching online - I'll get straight in touch with Jackie and ask her to sort it out for me! Thanks Jackie! xx

Hi Olivia, Just wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous holiday at El Paso Hotel, It was excellent, the food plentiful and there was a good selection. All geared up for families, with a lovely big pool. Being close to the theme park and water park was the icing on the cake, we even managed to spend one morning on the beach, this was in walking distance. Our private transfer was perfect, no worrying about the childrens seats as they were in our bus. Thank you so much for arranging everything for me and my family, you were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble, you certainly made the whole holiday experience for the eleven of us a complete joy. I will certainly be using you again.
