For the best experience, and to profit from discounts, you might want to schedule your visit for the off-peak seasons.

Bali Holidays – Sightseeing and activities

Bali Holidays - bali Kuta Beach

At just 90 by 50 miles, you may be tempted to think you’ll have seen and done everything there is to see and do in Bali within a single day. This is far from the case. Regardless of the means you choose to explore this locale you will be overwhelmed by the array of wonders on offer and wish you could extend your stay. The means available include taxis, rental cars and motorbikes as well as bicycles. The sumptuous beaches of Bali are usually the first stop for visitors looking to sunbathe or swim, though not all of them are safe for doing so, so do read the signs carefully.

The Bali coastline is a rather mixed grill with some stretches of white sand, others of black sand and others of cliffs that drop straight into the ocean. These beaches also provide fantastic waves for surfers as well as clear waters for those looking to explore the world below the waters in scuba gear. The seabed under the waters surrounding Menjangan Island is home to beautiful reef and most divers will head there. Those who have never entered into a diving suit or used a surf board will find teachers there to help them learn the ropes.

Other water sports available to visitors are sport fishing and rafting. There are other activities for thrill-seekers on land including bungee jumping and paragliding for the more daring, and horse riding and hiking. For those who prefer something less strenuous, there are several golf courses where they can play in lush surroundings. To enable those on holiday to relax even further, visit any one of the spas in Bali and let your body and mind be rejuvenated under an assortment of treatments.

Speaking of lush, Bali’s countryside is spectacularly green and fertile, proof of which are the many thriving rice paddies. The island is also home to a number of towering volcanoes with Mt Agung rising to over 3,000 metres above sea level. Mount Batur is an active volcano which you will find belching up clouds of smoke on any given day.
