The Travel Industry is the only industry I have ever worked in, although trained as a shorthand typist, it was my ambition to travel and so I got the job of secretary to the boss in a tour operating company. Spain was the main destination for holidays followed by Italy, there was only one hotel in the South of Tenerife so without putting into actual years, it's clear how long I have stayed in travel and how drastically things have changed over the years.
It is the kind of job where you are dealing with people for a pleasurable and memorable event; something for them to look forward to which makes for a happy and enjoyable working career role. However, being the third most expensive outlay for clients makes it very important to offer and arrange the perfect holiday for them, ensuring a great experience and something that lives up to all expectations. Having been lucky enough over the years to have visited many places and hotels, I cannot go to every resort and accommodation in the world and therefore rely on clients to give me feedback on their trips.
Being a homeworker requires total commitment to the job; not having set hours, often working late and weekends also helps accommodate clients who work normal hours and wish to discuss their plans at times which would ordinarily be inconvenient for the high street travel agent. It can be a great comfort to people both at home and whilst on holiday knowing that there is always a contactable person at the end of the phone especially if there is a problem and help is needed when abroad, instead of being faced with the 'Sorry the office is now closed' or 'press 1 for .... Press 2 for ....'.
Sunset Faraway Holidays are the ideal Operator who also care for clients' well-being, they also want repeat business and are not a large conglomeration of where people are merely classed as numbers and statistics. I am positive that we can offer the best and most appropriate holiday solution for all passengers. I can only equate 'service' to being the same as applying for a new passport. You can send your old passport with the new photograph etc and hope to get it back within a few weeks or you can take it to the Post Office where they check the form, take your picture and you are assured to get the new one within a few weeks. Our aim is exactly the same - to make sure all runs smoothly and you get the holiday you wanted.
