Vietnam

Vietnam, known for its dense jungles and numerous animal species is also a great destination for people to come to for an unforgettable holiday. A unique virtue that Vietnam holds is that the hand of man is yet to corrupt its beauty. The only major indications of man’s activities are the vast fields of rice that stretch from the north to the south. Actually, the fields provide some memorable scenery too.

Sightseeing and activities

The likely number one attraction for anyone intending to take a holiday in Vietnam is the “Bay of the Descending Dragon” which is the Ha Long Bay in the northern Vietnam. The bay has many islands covered with dense forest with a magnificent view of limestone pillars. In Vietnam, tourists should not miss the famous Cuc Phuong national park.

This park boasts the highest number of different animal species in one location. In this remarkable country we also find the intricate system of tunnels known as the Cu Chi tunnels. The tunnels were used in the Vietnam War and are now a major pull for curious visitors.

Tourists, on holiday to Vietnam, might want to tour Phu Quoc. Phu Quoc is the largest island among the many in Vietnam. Long sandy beaches, gorgeous, but dangerous, coral reefs and a dense wildlife inhabited jungle are the islands highlights.  The nuoc mam, the renowned fermented fish sauce, is famous in this huge island.

Vietnam is known for its many pagodas. The pagodas are part of the culture and can be seen featured strongly in the history of Vietnam. Among the surviving ancient temples, the Thien Mu Pagoda is on a class of its own. Seven tiers high, it is also the surviving tallest. It is the unofficial symbol of the former imperial capital.

The important Mekong Delta is formed by the sluggish waters of the Mekong River as it reluctantly edges to the end of its journey into the sea. Due to the heavy cargo of rich nutrients which it drops due to its weak current, the area is well nourished and clearly depicts this in its vegetation. The locals also capitalise on the nature provided blessing and have cultivated acres of land on the flat lands around the delta. A huge percentage of Vietnamese produce comes from the Mekong Delta.

Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, has a most breathtaking scene. Hoan kiem translated means returned sword. A Vietnamese tale tells of a king, Le Loi, who drove out the Chinese by a sword from the gods. Afterwards the sword turned into a Golden turtle that resided in the lake. The lake is considered holy and has many tortoises that live here.

Tourists, on holiday to Vietnam, who love food, will be happy to know that; for the Vietnamese, food is central to all. This is especially evident during major social functions; crucial business deals are even closed better over a hot plate. The food is not the same everywhere in Vietnam; the southern people for example have spicier food. The peoples’ national dish is ‘pho’, it consists of some broth soup and rice noodles. Nuoc mam, the fermented fish sauce, is widely used in Vietnam foods. The restaurants here have a wide range of foods, western cuisines included.

Accommodation has particularly improved in Vietnam with hotels just like this beachfront hotel and resort Phu Quoc matching the conditions of the hotels in the western world. For a chance to wholly experience the tropical world, a holiday excursion to Vietnam is imperative.

My wife and I recently used Dany's services to organise our adventure into Vietnam late last year and was immediately impressed with her knowledge, understanding of our needs and efficiency. She was quick to respond to our questions and queries - everything from our safety concerns to questions on minute details of the itinerary. Our holiday went exactly to plan in which she had organised every last detail, including transfers/hotels/internal flights and private guided tours which meant we could relax during our entire stay without any worries whatsoever. Many thanks Dany, Vietnam was one of our most memorable holidays.I would highly recommend her services.
