Seeing the diverse influences on its culture from many different places around the world, Hong Kong justifies the tag of ‘Asia’s World City’. The place was under British rule until recently and so has glaring English influence alongside its own Cantonese Chinese heritage. People from all over the world have also made this corner of Asia home, each bringing with them a piece of unique culture to add to this melting pot. Settlers are from Australia, Japan, Europe and even North America.
