Florida Holidays

Florida is the US’s Sunshine State, and probably – thanks to it being home to Disney World – the fun capital of the world.  But the fun doesn’t just limit itself to Mickey Mouse and his friends, there’s enough in Florida for you to fill every day of your vacation with a fantastic and memorable activity. Consider Florida holidays for unforgettable time of life.

Getting to Florida is child’s play.  Central Florida is well-served by two major airports in Orlando and in the South by ones in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.  If you enter America these days don’t forget to fill in an ESTA (Electronic System for Transport Authorisation) online before you go.  It costs fourteen US dollars per person and lasts for two years.  Make sure you apply via the official site, and not one of the many scam sites.  Also, the US takes its homeland security very seriously, so do precisely as you are asked at the airport.

If you’re going to Florida for exhausting fun, then Orlando is your best bet.  This is home to the five major parks (and two water parks) of Disney World, a colossal adventure experience that covers several square miles.

You can book tickets that will allow you entry into the parks every day for 7 or 14 days – you can even visit two or three parks on the same day.  The parks are so big that they very rarely get crowded, although the main park, The Magic Kingdom, can seem so during parades.

There’s also so much to do you won’t be queuing for any ride longer than an hour.  Each park has its own unique feel and all stay open for a fantastic night-time fireworks spectacular at least once a week.  Also in Orlando there’s the Universal Studios theme park, Seaworld, and Discovery Cove where you can swim with Dolphins.

More fun can be had at Busch Gardens at Tampa, or you can drive to the Atlantic coast to the world-famous Daytona Beach or the Kennedy Space Centre with its spacecraft displays and huge IMAX theatre.

Florida Holidays - Downtown miami

Down south is Miami, the heavily Spanish-influenced city with pristine beaches and hectic night-life.  It is also the gateway to the Keys, a group of small islands linked by a stunning, continuous road-bridge, and the Everglades, one of the largest national parks in the world expanding across thousands and thousands of acres of unpopulated marshland in which alligators and birds thrive.

The weather in Florida is virtually always warm, and can be almost unbearably hot during the high summer.  Massive downpours are frequent but such is the heat of the sun standing water is soon dried up.  Between June and November it’s hurricane season so if you are visiting Florida at the time it is best to keep an eye on the news, although there’s nothing to be alarmed about if one is reported as the State is primed and ready for hurricanes at all times.

People in Florida are genuinely friendly and the staff you encounter in restaurants and hotels are chatty and will always do their very best to please you.  When it comes to accommodation and food there is barely a limit to your choices, from high-class hotels to tiny self-catering villas.  No matter where you are in Florida there’s always somewhere close-by to eat at and usually around a hundred or so choices within a ten minute drive.

Florida is the ideal destination for those who want to have an eventful, enjoyable holiday, whether it’s the frantic fun of Disney World or the sumptuous sun of Miami or Tampa.  Book your holiday to Florida today for an amazing vacation that might just change your life. Our Florida Holidays will definitely etch themselves on your memory.
